There are many kind of hiking courses at Jirisan. I want to introduce main full hiking course which follows the 25.5 km ridge linking 25.5km ridge linking Cheonwangbong to Nogodan. This course usually takes 1 day(adult), 2 or 3 days(family).
Main Course :
Seongsamjae(Start)-Nogodan(2.5 km, 1 hour 30min)-Yeonhacheon shelter(10.5 km, 7h 10m)-Byeoksoryeong Shelter(3.6 km, 2h 30m)-Seseok Shelter(6.3 km, 4h)-Jangteomok Shelter(3.4 km, 2h)-Cheonwangbon(1.7 km, 1h 20m)-Rotary shelter(2 km, 1h 30m)-Jungsanri(3.4 km, 2h)
Hiking Story
I have finished JIRISAN(KOREA National Park) mountain range traversing with my daughter(3rd grade of elementary school) without any accident.
I have climbed JIRI mountain since since I started the hiking of this, but this year I had a chance of hiking with my daughter and I greatly felt happyness.
Before JIRISAN(KOREA National Park) mountain range traversing, we have always climed BukHan mountains located near home, however I am satisfied with giving her a chance of learning the wisdom of life throughout the meeting of new person during hikng course.
I would like to recommend JIRISAN(KOREA National Park) mountain range traversing with sons and daughters. My daughter's hear and soul grow up in one step after my daughter finished this.
Schedule : 1st August, 2009, KORAIL(Train) from Yongsan station(22:50) to Guryegu station(03:23)
Tip: There are korea traditional foods,corbicula soup and bean sprouts soup(5,000 won), in a restaurant near Guryegu station.
When the last train arrived in Guryegu station, The Bus from Guryegu station to Seongsamjae(located in hillside of Nogodan) will depart from Guryegu station and the bus it takes 45 minutes and you may feel like a roller coaster due mountain path.
2nd August : Guryegu station ~ Seongsamjae ~ Nogodan ~ Yeonhacheon shelter ~ Byeoksoryeong Shelter(camping outside of shelter without tent, only material to protect dewdrop in the night with sleeping bag)
3rd August : Byeoksoryeong Shelter ~ Seseok Shelter ~ Jangteomok Shelter(Inside of shelter)
4th August : Jangteomok Shelter ~ Cheonwangbon ~ Jangteomok Shelter ~ Jungsanri ~ Wongi ~ Seoul
