General Information of Jirisan


Jirisan is the first mountain ranges designated as a national park in korea .

Being designated as the first national park on Dec. 29, 1967 , JJirisan spreads from Gurye in Jeollanam-do, Namwon in Jeollabuk-do, Hadong-gun in Gyeongsangnam-do, and Sancheon-gun to Hamyang-gun. It incorporates three provinces, one city and four counties, and fifteen towns, spanning an area of 471.758 ㎢. In Jirisan National Park , Cheonwangbong (Peak: 1,915m) is the second highest mountaintop in South Korea . Jirisan National Park embraces other high peaks such as Jeseokbong (1,806m), Banyabong (1,732m), Nogodan (1,507m) etc. The National Park also embraces the valleys of Baemsagol, Chilseon, Daewonsa, and boasts excellent views of the impressive Guryong, Buril, and Yongchu waterfalls. Additionally, many temples and cultural assets such as Hwaeomsa, Ssanggyesa, Yeongoksa, Daewonsa, Silsangsa demonstrate that Jirisan is the foundation place of Buddhism in Korea .

1. Park Entrance Fee : Free
2. Shelter Charge : In Season(8,000 won per day) and Out of season(7,000 won per day) [Season: Spring(4.1~5.31), Summer(7.1~8.31), Fall(10.1~11.30)]
3. Blanket : 1,000 won per day
4. Sleeping Bag: To be prepared personally (Not to be provided)
5. Camping fees : In Season(1,600 won per day) and Out of season(2,000won)


Sleeping in the mountain can be only allowed in the each Shelter and To pitch a tent is only allowed in areas permitted like campin.
Reservations can be made through the Park Office.
